One of Sonoma's only drive-through restaurants, the Jack in the Box on West Napa Street, was listed for sale earlier this week and is already under contract.

It is the building at 601 W. Napa St. that is for sale for $2.409,811. Jack in the Box has a corporate lease in the spot until 2023 and the fast food restaurant is run by a 50-unit operator. The lease has four years remaining and offers a rental increase next year.

The restaurant was built in 1968 and it is 2,378 square feet on .37 acres.

The building is only one of three grandfathered drive-through restaurants in Sonoma. According to the agents, the opportunity is unique in that no additional drive-through restaurants are expected to be permitted in the city.

The current owners are a private family from the Bay Area, according to the listing agents. They are selling since the father recently passed away and the siblings are cashing out.

The family has owned the West Napa Street property since 1997. The site has been a Jack in the Box since 1998. From 1968 to 1998, there was an A&W restaurant, a Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Kenny Rogers Roasters at the site. The neighboring property owner, the Norrbom family, owned the property from 1910 to 1997.

According to listing agent Rainier Nanquil, the buyer is a local.
