Barber’s Garage opens in Sonoma

Barber’s Garage offers toddler cuts, beard trims and everything in between|

Early last month, another barber shop opened in the Springs.

Sonoma's new Barber's Garage is the second outpost for the shop by the same name that has operated in Rohnert Park for the past five years.

The shop is owned by Jose Alvarez and managed by 2007 Sonoma Valley High School graduate and barber Cristina Sanchez.

'Barber's Garage was doing so well in Rohnert Park that we wanted to open a second location,' said Sanchez. 'And, being from here, I felt strongly that the Springs was a great spot.'

The shop has seven chairs and four barbers. They do hot-towel shaves, beard trims, designs and womens haircuts – and most services run $15 to $30. A wide array of hair products is also available.

'We work with all ages – babies, toddlers on up,' said Sanchez.

They accept walk-ins as well as appointments on the Booksy app, by phone or on social media.

With several others barber shops recently cropping up in Sonoma Valley, what makes Barber's Garage unique?

Their hot shaves for one. But Sanchez also stresses that with five years and another successful location under their belt, she and Alvarez bring a lot of experience running a business.

'We're really professional and have a great track record serving customers,' she said.

Barber's Garage is on Facebook, Instagram (@barbers_garage) and Yelp.

The shop is located at 18460 Highway 12, next to the Fruit Basket.

They are open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
