Open house: The Rhône Room on lower Broadway is hosting an open house from noon to 5 p.m. on Jan. 17, 18 and 19, with some nibbles, special pours and discounts. Starting Jan. 28 the Rhône Room will only be open by appointment on Friday and Saturdays.

Napa dispensary: Napa County has welcomed its first cannabis dispensary, Harvest of Napa. The medicinal-only outlet at 2449 Second St. near Highway 29 opened on New Year’s Eve, after the passage of a city ordinance that followed years of local government discussions. Napa and Napa County still have no dispensaries for recreational marijuana.

Real ID: The Department of Homeland Security has granted a four month extension for California’s Real I.D. compliance. When the Real I.D. requirement takes effect, California travelers will not be able to get on planes or enter federal buildings without a passport or the new I.D. Drivers licenses will no longer be adequate.
