Sonoma entrepreneurs pitch their concepts

Jay Rooke launches ‘Seeding Sonoma’ pitch fest on Sept. 27|

Jay Rooke, who heads the Sonoma Start Up Grind business group, is hosting a new “Shark Tank”-style event at which a handful of local startups will make their business pitch to an expert panel of judges and try and win over the crowd by having the best pitch. “Seeding Sonoma” will take place on Sept. 27.

“My inspiration in putting on the event is to highlight the entrepreneurial activity in the Valley and bring together cool companies, investors and the business community to create a more diverse economic ecosystem here in Sonoma,” said Rooke.

Rooke has assembled a panel of entrepreneurial judges – Sondra Bernstein from the Girl and the Fig, Jordan Kivelstadt of Free Flow Wines and Sal Chavez of Puente International.

The event is scheduled from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Ramekins, 450 W. Spain St.

Tickets are $15 and should be purchased in advance at https://jayrooke.com/pitchfest/.
