Free tax prep: La Luz Center offers free tax prep as part of its EKS (Earn It, Keep It, Save It) program on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They see six people each Saturday by appointment. Clients should call 211, where they’ll be screened to ensure they meet the household income requirements and then booked. The program runs until April 28. 17560 Greger St.

Wine sales: 3 Badge Beverage Corporation’s Leese-Fitch wine brand achieved record sales in 2017 with growth of 16 percent to 271,372 cases. The brand, named for Sonoma’s Leese-Fitch Adobe, makes chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc, zinfandel and a red blend, which carry a California appellation.

Awards: Sonoma Valley’s Olive Press took home a Best of Show, two Best in Class awards and six other medals at the Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition. The competition included 658 extra virgin olive oils from 371 producers. The Olive Press, located at 24724 Arnold Drive, was founded in 1995.

Donations: Silver Moon Theatre has donated the net proceeds from its Holiday Old-Time Radio Shows to the Mayacamas Volunteer Fire Department and the Oakmont Fire Station. The radio shows were performed in December in Murphy’s Irish Pub and at Oakmont’s Quail Inn. The troupe donated $640 to each of the firefighting groups.

Promotion: Anthony Pizziol has been appointed chief operating officer for Bolt Staffing, which has offices in Sonoma, American Canyon and San Francisco. Pizziol started at Bolt in 2011 as an account manager. Former Mayor Joanne Sanders is founder and president.
