Sonoma's 3 Badge Beverage sells whiskey brands Masterson's, Bib & Tucker to Deutsch Family Wines & Spirits
3 Badge Beverage Corporation has sold its Masterson's and Bib & Tucker whiskey brands to Stamford, Connecticut-based Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, importer of the popular Yellow Tail wine brand.
Sonoma-based 3 Badge plans to use the undisclosed sum from the sale to pursue “new consumer product opportunities” and grow the existing portfolio.
Started in 2009 by August Sebastiani, from the long-standing family of Sonoma County vintners, 3 Badge also makes craft spirits. Such brands in its Mixology portfolio include Uncle Val's Gin, Kirk & Sweeney Rum, Pasote Tequila and Bozal Mezcal.
“This opportunity gives us a chance to further bolster our existing programs,” said Sebastiani, president, in a statement.
Deutsch told Whisky Advocate that production Masterson's and Bib & Tucker has been small. Yet there is enough aged stock to expand Masterson's nationally in a short period of time. The company reportedly also plans to increase production of Bib & Tucker in the next few years.
“Post-acquisition, we are maintaining consistent sourcing for both brands,” company spokesperson Karen Brennan told the publication.
Santa Rosa-based Zepponi & Company was the exclusive financial adviser to 3 Badge in the deal.
