Sonoma Valley Dragon girls take the #1 spot in basketball

Sonoma Valley High School girls basketball team has taken the No. 1 spot in the Vine Valley League after an impressive win over the Napa Grizzlies Tuesday, with a final score of 68-14.

The Dragons (16-5) have dominated basketball competition this year and have shot up through the rankings over the past month as a result, besting Cardinal Newman for the top spot this past week.

Led by head coach Jann Thorpe, the Dragons have now won seven of their last 10 games and hope to push their winning streak with a game against Petaluma at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The Sonoma Valley girls basketball team last faced off against Petaluma Jan. 9 at Sonoma Valley High School, when the Dragons won 44-29.
