24 Hours of Lemons at Sonoma Raceway

The motto is: ‘Racing is not just for rich idiots. Racing’s for all idiots. (This includes you.)’|

Ever wondered about the endurance of a 1978 camper van? Or a 1982 Pinto?

Welcome to 24 Hours of Lemons, a local spoof on the international race where basically anything with wheels is invited to come test its endurance at Sonoma Raceway. The catch is, the vehicle must cost less than $500 (not including safety equipment). Vehicles run until they can’t, making for weird and wacky races on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4 and 5.

Their motto is: “Racing is not just for rich idiots. Racing’s for all idiots. (This includes you.)”

The deadline to enter the race is Saturday, Nov. 20.

Spectator tickets are available for $30.
