Sleep is the focus of the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation’s third annual Women’s Health Symposium.

Called “Wake Up! Why I Need to Sleep and Why I Can’t,” this afternoon of health-related discussions is part of a partnership with UCSF Health. It will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at Hanna Center.

The symposium will include three panelists from University of California San Francisco: Dr. Liza Ashbrook, associate professor of neurology; Ying-Hui Fu, professor of neurology; and Dr. Andrew Krystal, professor of psychiatry. S. Andrew Josephson, chair of the university’s department of neurology, will serve as moderator. They all serve at the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences.

The inaugural Women’s Health Symposium, held remotely in 2021, focused on the theme, “Women are Not Small Men.” The second symposium was an in-person and livestreamed event titled “Memory and Aging: What You Can Do Now.”

Registration information and other details are posted on the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation website. Tickets for the in-person event can be purchased for $125 and include lunch. Proceeds will benefit women's health and wellness services at Sonoma Valley Hospital.

Hanna Center is located at 17000 Arnold Drive in Sonoma.
