Sonoma Valley gets 91 more units of affordable senior housing
Siesta Senior Apartments, a 2.29-acre development just outside the city of Sonoma, had its grand opening last week.
Though they received over 150 rental inquiries, about one-quarter of the units are still available. Though the building technically has 92-apartments, although one is set aside for managerial purposes.
Developed by Milestone Housing Group, which specializes in affordable housing throughout California, the three-story Spanish-style building includes:
- 91 one-bedroom units
- A clubroom
- Exercise stations
- A dog park
- Other outdoor communal areas
- Solar panels that will make the developments water and energy efficient
According to Marcus Griffin, CFO and principal of Milestone Construction Group, the rental rates vary between $708 to $1,416 per-month depending on the tenant’s income level.
Each unit is equipped with:
- Dishwasher and garbage disposal
- Granite countertops
- Microwave and range
- Refrigerator
- Vinyl flooring
- Double pane windows
- A balcony, patio or deck
- High-speed internet access
- Air conditioning and heating
- Cable ready
The project was financed by Housing Trust Silicon Valley, a nonprofit community loan fund.
“We’re excited to open a community in a very senior friendly location with very walkable access to groceries, shopping and other amenities,” Griffin said. “It’s a very safe environment with beautiful views of Sonoma Valley.
