Sonoma Valley High School sophomore Sophie Rulmont has been interning at Charlie’s Acres farm animal sanctuary for the past year. This month, she is organizing a two-day virtual Vegan Teen Summit on Feb. 20 and 21.

“We want to bring together teens who are interested in learning more about plant-based eating, climate activism, compassionate businesses, animal rescue and more,” she said. Some of the notable panelists will include Olympic athlete Dotsie Bausch, San Francisco youth climate activist Sarah Goody and cookbook author and youth health advocate Haile Thomas. There will also be teens from a variety of backgrounds and career paths.

“I wanted to create a space where teens could come together virtually and learn what kinds of interesting careers are out there and how you can make positive change in the world while still pursuing your passions,” said Rulmont.

The summit is open to all ages. Register at charliesacres.org. More information is on social media at @veganteensummit.

All registration fees will go to Charlie’s Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit sanctuary dedicated to the care of rescued farm animals. Learn more at charliesacres.org.
