Sonoma Cops: Drunk, disorderly and bleeding

And a range of other incidents reported recently to Valley law enforcement in December.|

An alcohol-fueled discussion turned into an altercation which in turn led to a trip to the hospital for the suspect who sought medical attention to treat a large gash on his arm.

At around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, Sonoma police were dispatched to a residence in the 19000 block of Junipero Serra for a reported disturbance. They found an intoxicated male bleeding from a significant injury to his forearm. The 30-year-old Springs resident apparently broke a window during a boisterous disagreement with some friends. When the police showed up, the suspect tried to flee but, because of his state of inebriation, was unsuccessful in making his escape.

Officers had to put a tourniquet on the man’s arm to staunch the bleeding until medics arrived. Because of the severity of the wound, medics transported the man to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The occupants of the residence declined to press charges of vandalism for the broken window, but police cited the man on charges of misdemeanor resisting or fleeing and misdemeanor public intoxication.
