Philanthropy through photography

Saturday night, Aug. 24, was an exceptionally beautiful night for the annual Sonoma Red & White Ball. Supporters of the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation came decked out in their red and white attire, including Sonoma Academy sophomore Cristian Isbrandtsen, who, for a $10 donation to the local schools, was there to take portraits of the guests. Isbrandtsen has just started his own nonprofit photography business. He hopes to photograph guests at area wineries and events to raise money for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). One hundred percent of his profits will help children and young adults living with the disease. Isbrandsten graduated from yhe Presentation School in 2012 and he is now a sophomore at Sonoma Academy, where he has just taken on the role of school photographer.
