October is Endow SV Month

Editor, Index-Tribune:

Banners are up around the Plaza again this year reminding everyone that October is Endow Sonoma Valley Month.

This is the third year that Sonoma Valley Fund, in conjunction with the City of Sonoma, has proclaimed October as the month when we remind residents to include Sonoma Valley nonprofit organizations as beneficiaries of their estate.

Most people don’t know how important and easy it is to help support the quality of life in our Valley through a bequest. You don’t have to be wealthy or have a complicated estate plan to make a gift that will allow our nonprofit organizations to continue to serve the community.

For more information on how to create a legacy gift or bequest that will help endow the Valley, email info@sonomavalleyfund.org.

Sonoma Valley Fund is an affiliate of Community Foundation Sonoma County. It was created and is managed by respected community leaders to help sustain and improve the Valley’s unique socioeconomic, environmental and cultural qualities for generations to come. It promotes and facilitates local philanthropy and legacy giving by serving as a bridge to the future, helping nonprofits build successful legacy and endowment programs, encouraging estate-planning professionals to discuss Sonoma Valley bequests with their clients, offering a set of prudent investment options for donors and nonprofits, and providing trustworthy, responsible and thoughtful stewardship of donor gifts.
