Sonoma police responded to a pair of juveniles engaged in “naked activities” in a blue Ford Mustang between First Street West and Norrbom Road at 1:08 p.m. on Nov. 11, according to Sonoma Police Sgt. Scott McKinnon.

The 16-year-old subjects were wearing clothes when the police contacted them. During questioning, the female juvenile suspect claimed she “spilled water on her jeans and needed to change into yoga pants,” McKinnon said.

Police cited out the juveniles to their parents, who were then transported back to Sonoma Valley High School.

DUI

A Sonoma man driving a 2015 Chevy Silverado hit a parked Toyota, drove on to a curb and smacked a light pole before coming to rest on top of a fire hydrant along the 700 block of Broadway. The accident caused damage to the front window at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art.

Sonoma police arrived on scene and met with the 36-year-old male driver who displayed objective signs of inebriation, McKinnon said. The driver was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and hit and run.

Grand theft

An employee of Safeway called police on Nov. 14 for a reported alcohol theft at Fifth Street West and Napa Street, which occurred at 6:10 p.m. on Nov. 12, according to McKinnon.

An unknown male suspect stole eight bottles of wine worth an estimated $2,650 from a locked wine cabinet, McKinnon said. Upon further examination, the locker appeared to be improperly locked which allowed the suspect to open it.

Police have a photo of the suspect, but have not confirmed the identity of the man, McKinnon said.
