March For Our Lives comes to Sonoma Saturday

To show support for the survivors of the school shooting that left 19 students and two teachers dead in Uvalde, Texas, Sonoma residents have organized a March For Our Lives on the Sonoma Plaza. Set for Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., all are welcome to participate.

March For Our Lives was created by the student survivors of the shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in 2018. Such demonstrations have since been held all over the country, seeking stricter gun laws and a political response to the many school shootings that have occurred in America.

“Bring signs or banners if you are able. Express what is in your heart concerning the frequency of residents of the United States buying guns to target children, students, shoppers, worshippers, movie goers, medical personnel and virtually anyone anywhere. How do you feel about assault weapons in our populace? How do you feel about children who do not feel safe in their schools? Help to send a message to our politicians,” the press release states.
