Lady Dragons demolish Elsie Allen

Posting their third straight Sonoma County League rout, the Sonoma Valley High School varsity basketball girls have reached the final week of the regular season sitting alone in second place with, unfortunately, the slimmest of chances to earn a share of the SCL title.

After the Lady Dragons dominated last Friday’s game en route to demolishing visiting Elsie Allen 51-4, they will hit the league road for Healdsburg tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Feb. 12, before returning home for a regular-season-ending showdown with SCL unbeaten first-place Analy on Friday, Feb. 14.

Before Friday’s 7:30 p.m. battle in Pfeiffer Gym, Sonoma will honor its lone three seniors Maddie Burningham, Giana Monterosso and Megan Neely.

Leading the Lady Dragons in their rout of Elsie Allen were Monterosso’s 13 points, four rebounds and three assists; sophomore Bella Bollman’s 12 points and six steals; junior Delaney Swanson’s eight points, eight rebounds and two steals; Neely’s eight points and five rebounds; junior Hanna Lemaire's four points; Burningham’s three points and three steals; junior Ciara Smith's two points, five rebounds and two blocks; and junior Shelby Camilleri’s one point, three rebounds and two assists.
