Representatives from grocery stores, recreation facilities, restaurants and other local businesses will be seeking career and summer employees at Sonoma Valley High School’s annual Student Job Fair this month.

Open to all Sonoma Valley High School students, the fair will be held from 1:45 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at the school’s Pavilion.

“The purpose is to connect students seeking either summer or post-graduation employment with local employers looking for employees,” said Wendy Swanson, coordinator of the fair as well as the work-based learning coordinator at Sonoma Valley High School. “Many of the students who participate are ninth, 10th and 11th graders looking for summer jobs and seniors looking for permanent employment or employment for the summer.”

Swanson expects that 50 to 80 students will attend the fair, which is being held exclusively for Sonoma Valley High School students.

“Most middle school students are too young and Creekside High School’s dismissal is much earlier than ours, so they will already have left the campus,” she said.

Some 15 to 30 employers are expected to participate.

“Employers don’t need to qualify to participate,” Swanson said. “They just need to RSVP at this link or email me directly at wswanson@sonomaschools.org. We would love to have more local employers join us!”
