Hospital hosting virtual medication review

Meet one-on-one with a pharmacist.|

Concerned about how your prescription medicines might be interacting with each other, or affected by the vitamins or supplements you take? Schedule a one-on-one virtual consultation with a Sonoma Valley Hospital pharmacist on Thursday, May 13, and confirm the integrity of your regimen.

From the safety and privacy of your own home, ensure that there is no risk of drug interactions, improper dosages, expired medications or potential side effects caused by your health protocols by consulting with SVH clinical staff pharmacist Baqara “Maya” Yoder. Yoder’s experience in both hospital and retail pharmacies gives her a “unique opportunity to help patients,” according to the hospital.

Appointments are made online at signupgenius.com/go/svhbrownbag, and offered in half-hour increments between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. All medications should be on hand for the consult, including all prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements.

Prescription drug misuse can have serious medical consequences, and has been on the rise in recent years. SVH invites the community to take advantage of the free opportunity to confirm that prescribed health protocols are helping, not hurting.

A second day of no-cost prescription drug consultation will take place at the end of the month on Thursday, May 27. For information or appointment assistance, call Sonoma Valley Hospital at 935-5257 or email pharmtech@sonomavalleyhospital.org.
