Fred T. Xavier

Born June 19, 1927, Fred T. Xavier passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by the love of his family on Dec. 13, 2013.

Born in Berkeley, Fred served his country in the Army during World War II in the Pacific theater.

In 1948, Fred married his best friend and soul mate, Carol. They spent the next 65 years devoted to their family.

After retiring, they sold the “Ranch” in Sonoma, spent the next 12 years traveling the states in their RV with occasional trips abroad.

Fred is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Linda Xavier Martinez and son-in-law, Ron, Tom Xavier and daughter-in-law, Sharon, of Hidden Valley Lake and Marilyn Xavier of Kenwood; five grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A full military honors service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, in Lakeport at the Hartley Cemetery Veterans Circle, 2552 Hill Road.
