Drama students: Justin-Siena's theater program is presenting the play “Working,” based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with American workers. The production paints “a portrait of the men and women that the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the phone operator, the waitress, the mill worker, the mason and the housewife, just to name a few.” Tickets are online at showtix4u.com/event-details/51836 or on the ShowTix4U app. The Sonoma Valley residents in the cast include Alexandra Antenen, Natalie Ervin, Lillian Kaer, Kane Williams. Crew members include Kaitlin O’Neill, Kiera Day, Hana Duhig and Ryan James.

Classes: The Sonoma School of Martial Arts is offering a new class focused on aerobic kicking and punching techniques for teens and adults. The class will cover all the basic kicks, punches and blocks that are at the base of all martial arts and self-defense training. The Monday 6 p.m. class begins May 17 at 577 Fifth St. W. in Sonoma (Yoga Community). The cost is $35/month.

Senior event: The details are under wraps but the school district is planning an event for Sonoma Valley High School graduating seniors from 10 a.m. to noon on May 26. Commencement is still also in the planning stages. It is set for June 4.

Homework help: Sonoma County Library provides SVUSD students with free online access to one-to-one, real-time tutoring available in English or Spanish in over 40 subjects. Students can log onto the tutor.com service to sign up for a virtual tutoring session with either their Sonoma County Library card number and pin or SVUSD student ID number. Power of Radical Self-Love: Santa Rosa Junior College is co-sponsoring a virtual visiting speaker event with Sonya Renee Taylor from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 13. Taylor is the author of the book “The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love.” The virtual event includes a conversation and interview, followed by a question-and-answer period.
