Dragons look to come back from loses

Baseball, softball continue homestands, lacrosse gets underway and swimming begins its VVAL circuit.|

Following a game against Ygnacio Valley on Thursday, the Sonoma Valley baseball team will host San Marin on Saturday, March 12.

The baseball team was coming off of a 9-2 loss to Alhambra going into Monday night’s game and is looking to get back on track after a 1-3 start.

Lacrosse, in its inaugural season, will get into the thick of the season this week when it travels to Sacramento.

The boys lacrosse team will play its first game of the season on Friday, March 11, with an away game against Christian Brothers at 3:30 p.m. at 4315 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.

Girls lacrosse will look to redeem a 17-8 loss to Novato with a game on the road against San Rafael at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, followed by a two-game homestand on Thursday and Friday. The girls will play their first league game on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against Vintage, then host Marin-Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

The softball team will also be looking for redemption, coming off of a 14-4 loss to Windsor last Thursday. Sitting with a record of 1-2, the Dragons played Monday afternoon against Novato, but the games ending occurred after the deadline for publication.

Following Monday’s game, Sonoma Valley hosts Marin Catholic on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

After competing in the Santa Rosa Junior College Invite all day on Friday, the Dragons swim team will start its Vine Valley circuit by traveling to Casa Grande on Wednesday.
