‘College Opportunities Summit’ presented by 10,000 Degrees

Free program available online for the class of 2022.|

Senior year can be fraught with uncertainty, and many students find choosing a path beyond high school daunting. Rising seniors who are curious about their continuing education options are invited to a free College Opportunities Summit hosted by 10,000 Degrees, a nationally recognized organization focused on supporting low-income students to college and beyond.

The free summit will help students understand how college can be an option even when finances are tight, teach participants how to build an appropriate list of targeted schools, and how to research and explore various college pathways. Participants will also get tips for navigating their senior year of high school, learn how to grow their self-advocacy skill set, and interact with students from all over the North Bay.

10,000 Degrees serves more than 12,000 North Bay students and families annually. Eighty percent of the program’s four-year college participants graduate with bachelor’s degrees, compared to 31 percent of their peers nationally, and those who start their college journey at junior colleges move on to four-year programs at a rate three times the national average. In its 40-year history, 10,000 Degrees has awarded over $80 million in scholarships, and helped 20,000 students graduate from college.

The College Opportunities Summit for the class of 2022 takes place virtually from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 26-30. Registration is open now at 10000degrees.org.
