Church has been helping the local homeless organization since 2017

Representatives of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints visited Sonoma Overnight Support this last week to check out their operations in person as one of their partners, according to SOS Director Kathy King.

The Church has been searching for small nonprofits to help support throughout Northern California said Danny Wells, the communications director of Northern California for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The Church has made warehouses available to provide food to the members of the Sonoma Overnight Support community. SOS will be able to order resources directly from the warehouses, which are offered by the church for free.

“We’re always very impressed with organizations like SOS who operate almost entirely through volunteer support,“ Wells said.

The group has been investing in Sonoma Overnight Support since 2017, and received SOS’s Compassionate Service award the following year.
