Chilly temperatures and frost were forecast to arrive early Tuesday morning in Sonoma County ahead of possible rainy weather later in the week, according to the National Weather Service.

A frost advisory for the North Bay valleys overnight will be in effect until 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Temperatures were expected to drop into the low 30s and upper 20s in certain locales.

Following showers and gusty winds across the North Bay on Sunday night and into Monday, another storm system is forecast to arrive Thursday morning and last into Friday, weather service meteorologist Jeff Lorber said.

Sunday’s rain brought around a half-inch of precipitation in Santa Rosa and about an inch at higher elevations. Thursday’s system is expected to bring similar amounts of rainfall, Lorber said.

On Monday afternoon, a wind advisory for the coastal North Bay expired at 2 p.m. The area saw winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of up to 44 mph in the coastal mountains, Lorber said.
