The Sonoma Blanket Brigade is looking for members of the community to become part of a team of blanket makers.

For the past seven years, the Sonoma Blanket Brigade has been making no-sew acrylic fleece blankets which are given to various nonprofit groups during the holiday season.

Just a few of these nonprofits include the Valley of the Moon Children’s Home, CASA (the Court Appointed Special Advocates), and the Yountville Veterans Home.

The blankets are easy to make and bring comfort to the adults and children who receive them. The group meets at the Vintage House senior center throughout the year to make blankets.

Upcoming dates include the following Fridays, July 24 and Aug. 21. If you or your group are interested in participating in the Sonoma Blanket Brigade, and would like additional information, contact Margaret Bell at 933-1693, or emptybell@comcast.net. It is necessary to reserve a space and get a materials list.

Vintage House is located at 264 First St. E., Sonoma.
