Sonoma-Tokaj Virtual Holiday Bake-a-thon

Learn to bake the Hungarian way with free Nov. 20 event|

Sonoma Sister Cities’ Sonoma-Tokaj (Hungary) committee offers a Virtual Holiday Bake-a-thon on Saturday, Nov. 20, via Zoom. And it’s an hour of fun for free.

Those who register will get to “meet” committee members and learn holiday traditions from both Sonoma and Tokaj, the latter all the way from Hungary via Zoom.

Everyone will receive a recipe booklet for poppy seed and walnut rolls, hazelnut triangles, fruit- or nut-filled cream cheese cookies, and Linzer cookies so that you can make them at home wherever you are. 11 a.m. PST, 20 p.m. CET (Hungary).

According to the website, “The Sonoma-Tokaj Sister City Committee was established in April of 2012 by local and Bay Area Hungarians under the sponsorship of Jean Charles Boisset, owner of Buena Vista Winery. The cities officially became Sister Cities when the two mayors signed an agreement on Aug. 31, 2012 in Sonoma.”
