Sonoma History Buskers to present free comedy lecture on history of wine

Sonoma History Buskers offer ‘41-Minute Condensed History of Wine,’ which is part history lecture, part sketch comedy.|

The Sonoma History Buskers will present their latest free historically themed performance-art piece on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Sebastiani Winery in Sonoma.

The “41-Minute Condensed History of Wine,” is part history lecture, part sketch comedy and all fun. With an actual time-machine on stage, this original scripted presentation explains the history of wine in just 41 minutes.

Comprised of George Webber and CW Bayer, the Sonoma History Buskers are local actors and historians who believe that the ironies of history are hilarious. Staged in the spacious Barrel Room at Sebastiani Winery in Sonoma, this free cultural offering requires no reservation.

In true “busker” fashion, a top hat will be passed around for gratuities at the end of the show.

Audiences will meet several luminaries from the glorious history of wine. Performances will take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and Sebastiani wine by the glass and bottle will be available to enjoy before, during and after each show.

Webber and Bayer appear on a pair of shows on Sonoma’s volunteer radio station, KSVY: “Radio Theatre of the Wild West” on Sundays at 6 p.m. and “CW’s Roots Music” on Fridays at 1 p.m.
