Sonoma car cruise for 4th of July announced

No parade this year, but classic cars to circle Sonoma|

The Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association announced this week that the Devils Darlin’s, a local car club, will be organizing a patriotic classic car cruise through the Sonoma Valley on July 4.

The prior car cruise was held in 2020, during the early days of the pandemic, in lieu of the annual 4th of July Parade, which was canceled. The car club brings the rally back to town again this year.

The cruise will start at 9 a.m. from the parking lot of the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building, then go around the Sonoma Plaza, up Highway 12 to Glen Ellen, and back down Arnold Drive to Verano Avenue.

Anyone with a classic car or truck is encouraged to show up by 8:30 a.m. and join in the cruise.

“We encourage residents to get out along the route and view these classic cars, but please follow all county health orders pertaining to the COVID-19 virus,” said Bob Norrbom, of the SVFA. “The Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association hopes everyone can celebrate Independence Day safely, and we are looking forward to hosting next year’s full Independence Day celebration with a parade, festival and fireworks show. ”
