Kivelstadt reopens with new menu

New lunch menu will grow to include new brunch menu.|

Jordan Kivelstadt reopened his Kivelstadt Cellars & WineGarten on Thursday, May 12, for food and wine, winetasting, and live music. This is a kid- and dog-friendly location covered with shade from Sycamore trees and a kids play area, with a little occasional fire truck excitement from the Schell-Vista Fire Department across the creek.

So far they have a lunch menu, with “brunch menu items coming soon.”

Last weekend Kivelstadt and friends took their new food truck to Off the Grid at Fort Mason for a taco tasting competition paired with their KC Labs’ Blanc, KC Labs’ Rosé, and Fathers Watch Red Rhône blend.

The new menu for Saturday and Sunday brunch includes biscuits with jam and whipped honey butter and a waffle breakfast sandwich. ($15 to $18)

For the table you might order sushi-grade Ahi tuna; burrata and sugar snap peas with pea shoot pesto, baby arugula and grilled bread; fried chicken bites; shoestring French fries, or pickled golden beet and avocado toast. ($9 to $24).

They offer salads such as spring vegetables and potato with Yukon Gold potatoes and sugar snap peas; an Iceberg wedge with pickled beets, and avocado salad with Point Reyes blue cheese; or a strawberry and goat cheese salad. ($16 to $17).

Main courses include a smoked pork sandwich, a fried chicken sandwich, a mushroom Cubano, KC burger with fries, or sweet potato tacos dorado. Sandwiches come with salad. ($17 to $21). Substitute shoestring fries for salad costs $3 more.

And then there’s the S’more In a Jar or vanilla bean panna cotta to top it all off. ($12 to $14). 22900 Broadway, Sonoma. 938-7001.
