Di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art now open on Thursdays

The museum’s hours of operation will continue to be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.|

Di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art will be expanding its days of public operation to include Thursdays beginning Nov. 2.

“Being open Thursdays broadens di Rosa’s ability to serve our North Bay community and offers new programming opportunities,” said Andrea Saenz, di Rosa’s director of education and civic engagement, in a news release.

The museum’s hours of operation will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In recognition of Veteran’s Day, di Rosa will provide free admission to all active-duty military and veterans with ID from Nov. 9 to 12.

Two exhibitions in di Rosa’s permanent collection are currently on view in di Rosa’s 10,000-square-foot Gallery 2: “To the Max!” and “Ghost in the Machine.” Di Rosa’s Gallery 1 features “Listen Louder: Ana Teresa Fernández.”

In addition to special exhibitions, di Rosa’s 217-acre property boasts a gift shop, a 35-acre lake, bird watching, walking trails with vineyard views, picnic grounds and a sprawling outdoor sculpture collection.

An array of public programs and events are offered for all ages to inspire creativity and curiosity. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnics. Children and educators are always free at di Rosa.

The public is invited to attend the opening reception for Listen Louder: Ana Teresa Fernández on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A performance, “Ethos Pathos Logos,” will begin at 6 p.m. in the exhibition space. Tickets cost $10 per person and free for di Rosa members. They are available at dirosaart.org.
