Author to share winemaking techniques

Winemaker, columnist and lecturer Alison Crowe to speak in Sonoma on May 13.|

The author of “The Winemakers Answer Book” will discuss winemaking techniques in Sonoma on Thursday, May 13.

Alison Crowe, director of winemaking and partner at Plata Wine Partners, has written the popular column “The Wine Wizard” for WineMaker magazine for more than 15 years, and is the author of “The Winemaker’s Answer Book” and the wine blog, GirlandtheGrape.com. Crowe also holds three degrees from UC Davis: fermentation science, Spanish and an MBA.

“We are honored to have someone with Alison’s expertise talk to our group about winemaking techniques from crush to bottling,” said J.W. Nickel, president of Sonoma Home Winemakers , who are hosting the talk. "There are literally no questions she is not prepared to answer.”

The Sonoma Home Winemakers normally meet at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the Vintage House, but during COVID restrictions, the meetings are conducted via Zoom.
