Sonoma actor and historian George Webber is bringing back his tours of the Plaza with Gen. Mariano Vallejo during April and May.

Back in 2003, Webber began giving tours of the Sonoma Plaza as Gen. Vallejo, and he’s reprising his role for eight days as he leads his “The General Tells All” tour.

“The General Tells All” is 90 minutes of exposition, erudition, frivolity and merriment, as Gen. Vallejo recounts his amazing life on the ground he walked between 1834 and 1890.

The tour begins at the Bear Flag Statue in the northeast corner of the Sonoma Plaza and includes the Blue Wing Inn; the Sonoma Mission Indian Memorial; the Sonoma Barracks; the site of the general’s Casa Grande; tales of the Rancho and Mission eras of California; the true story of the Bear Flag Revolt and the Gold Rush; the Sonoma Plaza; and maybe a historic saloon.

The 90-minute tour begins at 10 a.m. at the Bear Flag statue in the northeast corner of the Plaza.

The tours will be given Sunday, April 5; Sunday, April 12; Monday, April 13; Sunday, April 19; Sunday, May 3; Monday, May 4; Sunday, May 10 and Monday, May 11.

The cost is $25 for adults while children are free. No credit cards. Reservations are required at 939-0113.
