Comedy Night returns to uptown El Verano this Saturday night, when The Reel and Brand hosts another yuck fest. Produced and hosted by local funny guy Torio Van Grol, the show will be headlined by Joe Klocek, and will feature Shannon Murphy and Orion Levine.
Klocek is a San Francisco transplant, having been raised in the Midwest. Like all the comedians Van Grol brings into town, Klocek has a long CV of important club appearances, writing gigs, TV spots, and high-placing comedy competition experiences.
His website indicates that he “has manners.” We can all hope that he leaves the manners in the hall closet and really dishes some digs during his set.
Supporting comics Murphy and Levine have much to brag about at the holiday dinner table, too. Murphy is a native of the Bay Area and honed her heckling and comedy skills while sitting in the bleachers at Oakland A’s games. Levine is a confessed Adderall denier, refusing to take his meds because “he thought it made him less funny.”
All three comics will be recovering from Thursday’s tryptophan dose, and will be raring to go to town on the hilarious topics of the day.
