The Sebastiani Theatre will host two matinee performances of 'The Snow Maiden: A Russian Wonder Tale of Love and Magic' in December. With a cast comprised of adults and children ages 6 to 16, the full-length ballet and dance performance recounts a classic Russian folktale. 'This classic folktale is as popular in Russia as 'The Nutcracker' and it will charm you and warm your heart,' says Sonoma Conservatory of Dance director Patty O'Reilly.
The Sonoma Conservatory of Dance is partnering with SAY Grief Services for these performances to raise awareness and funds for the youth-serving nonprofit.
In addition to dozens of local dancers, a guest dancer Evan Johnston is featured as Lel, the Russian shepherd boy who falls head-over-heels in love with the beautiful and mystical Snow Maiden, played by Sonoma Conservatory of Dance's own Emily Curiel.
