Larson Family Winery’s annual Limerick Contest

St. Patrick’s Day tradition continues despite fire on property|

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Limerick Contest is underway at Larson Family Winery. Despite the recent fire, they are carrying on the tradition, with entries from all over the country.

Participants waxed poetic about either Larson or Sonoma County in their limericks. The winners will receive a $150 Larson Family Winery gift card to use online at the winery’s web store

Here are some of the winning entries:

And to frolic with three gorgeous Labs.

And for free (Ollie ate all our tabs)!

Sonoma's grand vineyards do shine.

Grapes grown here are always divine.

Visiting is a ball

tasting wines one and all -

Three Lab Cab is a favorite of mine!

Joan Salzman, Los Alamos, New Mexico

Other favorites:

Three dogs of the species named lab

Got together to make a great cab

Everyone thought it was jolly

That Louie, Rosko, and Ollie

Were making a wine that is fab

Alan Wyman, White Bear Township, Minnesota

***

There is 'ol gent named Bob,

Who peddles fine wine for a job.

So if you start run dry,

And you feel you may die.

Just call Bob, it's his job, don't you sob!

My wife bought me Sonoma wine

Uncorked a bottle when ready to dine

A winery owner that we know

Says he's quitting the biz (i.e., vino)

It's not that he minds

He's just tired of working for pinot
