Celebrate 25th anniversary of horror film shot partly in Sonoma.|

Get ready to scream, Sonoma – on Oct. 31 the Sonoma International Film Festival is presenting a 25th anniversary screening of “Scream,” the 1996 Wes Craven teen slasher film whose high school campus scenes were shot partly at the Sonoma Community Center.

The film follows the plight of a high school student (Neve Campbell) who becomes the target of a mysterious killer who seems to be basing his creepy tactics on old tropes from Hollywood horror films.

The SIFF Halloween Fright Night movie takes place on Halloween night itself – Sunday, Oct. 31 at Andrews Hall in the Sonoma Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded. $20 general. “Woodsboro High School” - aka Andrews Hall in the Sonoma Community Center, is located at 276 E. Napa St.
