The Devils Darlin’s are revving their engines for a patriotic Fourth of July classic car parade this July 4 at 9 a.m.

One of the oldest car clubs in the area, the Darlin’s are a classic car club based in the Valley since 1951. Last year’s parade brought out over a hundred vintage vehicles to celebrate Independence Day.

The club hadn’t held a Fourth of July event prior to last year, as the group questioned whether the community would support a car parade in addition to the annual parade hosted by the Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association around the Plaza. But after the cancellation of the traditional Independence Day parade, the Darlin’s managed to preserve a part of that summer tradition amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association issued a release earlier in the month announcing the route and time for the parade.

Any members of the club or those who would like to participate in the parade will meet in the parking lot of the Sonoma Valley Memorial Veterans Building parking lot. The parade will start there, then proceed through Sonoma Plaza up Highway 12 to Glen Ellen then down Arnold Drive until it reaches Verano Avenue.

The Darlin’s annual car show has been the group’s longest running event. This year’s show takes place July 17.
