Taco Bell reopens, favorites close, coworkers wanted and more

Taco Bell update: The renovation at the local Taco Bell has been completed and the changes to the look of the fast food outlet at 19025 Sonoma Highway are dramatic. The fast food spot reopened on Feb. 25.

New Mattson spot: KS Mattson Partners (Ken and Stacy Mattson) have purchased a small bungalow at 424 Second St. W. and applied for a general business license for the spot. A spokesperson for the Mattson’s Sonoma’s Best Hospitality Group had not replied to an email request for more information by press time.

Noodlespring closed: Noodlespring’s “season is coming to an end” according to John Toulze at Girl and the Fig. The takeout spot on the Plaza is expected to reopen at the end of 2021.

Top hospital: Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa has been named to Healthgrades “2021 America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award.” This puts the hospital in the top 5 percent of 4,500 hospitals assessed nationwide for clinical performance. Read more at healthgrades.com.

Sonoma Exchange Bank closure: According to a spokesperson for Exchange Bank, the Sonoma branch at 435 W. Napa St. was closed unexpectedly on Feb. 22 and reopened on Feb. 23. The spokesperson was unsure whether the closure was COVID related, but said that, if so, specific safety protocols would have been implemented before reopening.

Theaters reopening: Cinemark announced that it would be reopening some Bay Area theaters on Feb. 26 with enhanced cleaning and safety protocols. At press time, the Napa Cinemark off of Imola Road was not on the list to reopen this week.

Co-work space open: The Good Co., Sonoma’s first co-working space, has private office, private desk and general memberships now available downtown at 550 Broadway. Email info@goodcosonoma.com to learn more.

Fate of Happy Dog: The phone line at the Happy Dog restaurant has been disconnected. The sign out front continues to state that the restaurant is temporarily closed. 18962 Sonoma Highway.

Changing stations: Sharyn Paquette has moved from EJ588 to Estela Salon at 730 Broadway. Paquette specializes in dry curly cuts, color, blonding and color corrections. She works Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. estelasalon.com.

New board members: Tracy Reynes and Michael Studebaker, both local real estate agents with Compass, and local architect, Sid Hoover, have joined the board of the Sonoma League for Historic Preservation as new directors. Nina Small and Michael Hospelt’s terms have ended.

Now open: Starting on Feb. 26, Prohibition Spirits is offering outdoor tasting experiences outside its new Sonoma Plaza tasting room and bar shop in the Mercato Courtyard. Reservations recommended.
