Another big week in local business news, including a new map of Glen Ellen.|

Sonoma Truck & Auto: The long-boarded up Sonoma Truck & Auto site received numerous purchase offers by its Sept. 1 “Request for Proposals” deadline, according to Scot Hunter, the real estate agent overseeing the transaction. He said that the top offers are currently being evaluated and he hopes official news will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.

Moved out: The Massage Studio, formerly located in the shopping center on West Napa Street with Sonoma Market, has moved out. The 350-square-foot space is currently vacant and for lease. Emails to the Massage Studio were not returned by press time.

New graphics: The Lodge at Sonoma has a new graphic logo for the property name. The marketing team at the Lodge described it as “just one part of their ongoing process to make some improvements at the property.” The resort’s new restaurant, Wit & Wisdom, opened on Sept. 14.

Testing: The Sonoma County Vintners Foundation is providing a weekly active COVID-19 testing program for Sonoma County wineries and growers now through Oct. 22. Members of Sonoma County Vintners also receive special pricing on test kits. Visit https://bit.ly/2QFuHet for more information.

New hires: Sonoma Community Center has hired Jill Sabel Valavanis and Jodi Anderson. Teaching artist Valavanis is joining SCC as fine arts coordinator. Anderson is joining the SCC development team as database coordinator, after more than 20 years at Hanna Boys Center.

New Glen Ellen map: The Commerce and Tourism Committee of the GE Forum has completed the first printing of Glen Ellen village maps. They are collecting additions and edits and are already preparing for a second printing. Office building for sale: The 1,887-square-foot office building at 800 Broadway is for sale for $1.5 million. The building formerly housed Coldwell Bankers real estate, among other tenants. Coldwell Bankers is now primarily located at 34 W. Spain St. but brokers are working remotely at this time.

Promotions: Patz & Hall founder and head winemaker James Hall has just promoted several long-term members of his winemaking team. Tom Klassen has been promoted to winemaker; Ross Outon has been promoted in his role as cellarmaster; and Jasmine Daniel has been promoted to enologist.

Mask required: “Mask Required” posters are now available through the Sonoma County Economic Development Board (in both English and Spanish).

Dentist: Dentist Dena Marcus has welcomed dentist Alice Huang to her dental practice. She is a fellow University of the Pacific graduate and she completed an advanced general dental program in Oregon. Marcus’ previous practice partner, dentist Claire Tyler, left the practice to homeschool her children, according to Marcus.

Napa gets creative: A developer is going to spend $250 million to convert the Kohl’s in downtown Napa and its parking lot into 120 apartments for rent, a 210-room hotel and 35,000-square-feet commercial space for lease. It will be called the Napa Parkway Plaza project. The downtown Napa Kohl’s will eventually move to 333 Soscol Ave.

Warehouse for sale: A 39,000-square-foot warehouse on Eighth Street East is for sale for $4.4 million. The building is fully leased, located on 2.25 acres and was built in 1950. W Real Estate is the agent.

Wine Auction: The 2020 Sonoma County Wine Auction runs Sept. 17 to 20. Auction lots range from exclusive experiences to some of the rarest wine collections. The proceeds support the local Sonoma County community. Register at SonomaCountyWineAuction.com.
