State of the Valley: The Chamber of Commerce is hosting a State of the Valley event on Tuesday, Oct. 29 bringing together civic and business leaders for a night of celebrating the year's successes and learning about what lies ahead for our beautiful and historic Sonoma Valley. In addition, the Sonoma Chamber will present its 2019 'Business of the Year' award at the event. The event is at the Sonoma Mission Inn. The speakers will include California State Senator Bill Dodd, City of Sonoma Mayor Amy Harrington, Sonoma Valley Unified School District Superintendent Socorro Schiels and 1st District Supervisor Susan Gorin.

Anniversary: Sunflower Caffe is celebrating its 12th anniversary on the Sonoma Plaza. The café is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily but also available for small and large gatherings of up to 120 people from 5:30 to 9 p.m. 421 First St. W.

Charging news: Sonoma Clean Power's service territory of Sonoma and Mendocino counties has been selected by the California Energy Commission for a regional incentive project. Beginning in October of 2020, the Energy Commission, Sonoma Clean Power and the Northern Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District will dedicate a combined $6.75 million in funds toward expanding publicly available electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the two counties.

Job Fair: Sonoma County Job Connections Fair is Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Doubletree Hotel in Rohnert Park from 3 to 6 p.m. The event is free to attend and there will be hiring managers there, free professional headshots, free resume advice and more. Register for free on Event Brite.
