The Happy Dog building at 18962 Sonoma Highway is for sale. The 1,024 square foot building and all restaurant equipment is priced at $579,000.
When reached by phone on Wednesday, Coldwell Banker listing agent Daniel Rogers said the local owners are retiring and their nephew, who has been running the restaurant, has moved away.
The building has been the home of Happy Dog for 30 years. The popular roadside spot was best-known for its burgers, hot dogs and fries. The restaurant has been closed for more than a year.
“This much-loved local burger place is truly iconic in Sonoma,” said Rogers. “The family is hoping someone will buy the place and reopen Happy Dog and they are happy to have the name continue.”
The sale includes complete equipment set-up including two new fryers, a new fridge and freezer, a charbroiler and more.
The bright white and red building sits on .06 acres (2,662 square foot lot) with three parking spaces.
