New tasting room in Glen Ellen: Debra and Steve Beresini have opened a tasting room in the small barrel space across the street from Jack London Village. Tastings are available by appointment from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Call (415) 531-5003 or visit beresinivineyards.com. The couple live and have vineyard land in Carneros and have sold wine for years to wholesalers. This is their first tasting room.

Panel news: The Panel on West Napa Street has opened a tasting lounge space in the back, and Spread Catering To Go offers pickup of its menu there between 3 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. The back patio lounge is open from 4 to 9 p.m.

Closed: Wildwood Farm Nursery at 10300 Sonoma Highway in Kenwood is closed. After 45 years in business, the retail nursery has now transitioned to a landscape design consulting company “in the digital realm.” According to realtor.com, the 12-acre property the nursery was located on sold on Aug. 28 for $1.4 million.

Grant: The Sonoma County Economic Development Board is offering COVID-19 Business Stabilization Grants totaling $2.5 million. Small businesses in Sonoma County with between one and 30 employees will be able to apply for between $2,500 and $15,000 in COVID-19 relief funding to use toward expenses including payroll, utilities, rent or mortgage expenses. The grant application window closes on Oct. 19.

APES plumbing news: APES Plumbing and Heating in Fetters Hot Springs at 17521 Sonoma Highway now sports a bright new colorful sign. The business is owned by Bryan Chase.

New hires: Alma Bastress has been hired as the new office manager for Art Escape Sonoma. Teen Services Sonoma has welcomed Cian Lacy as assistant manager at Operation Bicycle. Cian graduated from Sonoma Valley High School in 2016 and is currently pursuing a major in philosophy at Santa Rosa Junior College. Sonoma Ecology Center has hired Jim Elias as its new operations director. Elias most recently served as executive director at the Marin County Bicycle Coalition.

Taub goes national: Taub Family Outpost is featured in Wallpaper magazine this month in a feature about the New York- and Oakland-based firm, Studio Becky Carter, that designed the downtown space and its café and bottle shop, wine bar, and its upstairs Outpost lounge and Beacon speakeasy bar.

Downtown building for sale: The office building at 35 Maple St. is for sale. The downtown building just off Broadway by Peet’s Coffee is 3,372 square feet and described as fully-leased with tenants that include Wine Business Monthly Inc. The sale price is $1.8 million.

Highway 12 building for lease: The office building across from the Maxwell Park tennis courts at 19150 Sonoma Highway is for sale for $2.5 million. The building space currently houses Donny Sebastiani’s The Other Guys wine group.
