With Sonoma Valley High School’s fall sports of water polo and girls’ golf and tennis having completed their seasons, and football, soccer and volleyball ready to enter the postseason, Sonoma’s winter sports of basketball and wrestling are ready to kick off their preseason.
The winter Dragons begin their workout sessions for the 2013-14 campaigns this Monday, Nov. 11.
Students who want to participate in Sonoma’s winter sports of basketball and wrestling need to have all their paperwork and mandatory current physical examinations completed before the official opening of preseason practices for that sport. Forms and paperwork are available at the SVHS student activities office Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Taking a quick peek at the winter Dragon varsity teams, the wrestlers will be the defending their Sonoma County League title, while the basketball Lady Dragons are one of the favored teams in the SCL championship hunt, and the Sonoma boy cagers return a bulk of their team and will make a run at the league crown.
