The popular Wine Country Horse Racing’s 78th Sonoma County Fair season on the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds dirt-and-turf race surfaces wraps up this weekend and features three more stakes races.
Today’s post time is 3:15 p.m. and the stakes race is the Wine Country Debutante (six furlongs) for two-year-old fillies, while 1:15 p.m. is the post time for tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 9, and Sunday, Aug. 10.
Saturday’s stakes race is the Jess Jackson Owner’s Handicap (five furlongs, turf) for 3-year-olds-and-up; and Sunday’s stakes race is the 44th running of the Cavonnier Juvenile Stakes (six furlongs) for 2-year-olds.
Preceding the daily horse races are the horse-racing seminars in Shade Park (next to the fairgrounds track), which take place at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and 1:30 p.m. on Fridays.
Admission to the track's lower level is free with fair admission and upper reserved grandstand seats are $3 a person, while box seats and preferred grand-stand seating are $5 a person.
