The 28th Wine Country Film Festival has teamed up again with the Kenwood Restaurant and Bar in Kenwood for a special evening featuring a reception, auction, dinner and film from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27.
At Art + Eco, there will be a screening of the award-winning film “Garden in the Sea” (“Jardin en el Mar”) a documentary about art, landscape, and environment at 7 p.m. Over a period of four years, world renown director Thomas Riedelsheimer, “Rivers and Tides” followed Spanish artist Cristina Iglesias to the Mexican Sea of Cortez where she was commissioned to create an underwater sculpture that gradually will help enhance marine life.
The film talks about the role of art and about human passion, experiences, and longings. It makes the stunning beauty of the oceans and seas tangible, inviting people to care for it.
“Given the recent expansion of the ocean marine preserve in the Pacific Ocean by President Obama that was initiated by President George Bush, and the growing awareness about the perils of ocean acidification this is an event not to miss,” sad Justine Gotthardt, WCFF co-founder.
There will be a reception and auction in the Event Room at 5 p.m. followed by the film, and discussion.
The $20 includes hors d’oeuvres, an auction paddle, and the film.
Patrons can upgrade to $75 plus tax and gratuity (includes auction paddle, film and a reserved seat) and enjoy an artful sustainable dinner at 5 p.m. Chef Anthony Paone will prepare a special menu for the evening event.

Net proceeds go to the 28th Wine Country Film Festival a local, 100 percent volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to bringing awareness to the environment, the arts and world cultures through film, exhibits and meaningful discussion.
