Wednesday Night Drags, SVHS cheerleading, tennis tourney, girls softball

SONOMA RACEWAY CONTINUES its popular Wednesday Night Drags program, along with the motorsport of drifting, every Wednesday evening through Nov. 13, and are open to anyone with a driver’s license, who can race any vehicle or motorcycle they bring to the world-famous quarter-mile drag strip, provided it passes a simple tech inspection. Gates open for “Drag and Drift” at 3:30, time runs begin at 4, and the racing takes place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. – with drifting from 4 to 10 p.m. The Wednesday Night Drags costs are $25 for competitors, $15 for students with a high school ID and $10 for spectators. SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School’s cheerleading program is raising funds for much-needed uniforms and equipment for the current season. Anyone who would like to donate can call the SVHS student activities department at 933-4016.

SONOMA VALLEY TENNIS Association is hosting a one-day USTA NorCal sanctioned mixed doubles tournament this Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Maxwell Park courts.
