Visiting artist series wows local kids

The Boys & Girls Clubs’ Visiting Artist Series continues through April with new performers slated.  Two hundred kids have attended each week, at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The goal of the series is to expose kids to different types of music and musicians, and to pique club members’ interest in playing music. The program, brought to the club by Vanessa and Rand Ronglien, is the first step in a full ladder of music exposure and education that will be offered at BGCSV. Each artist plays music for the club members and also leads a discussion about performing and their career in music. The April musicians include Keith Ridenhour, Dawn Angelosante, Bill Jasper and the Flowery Elementary School band. Recent visiting performing artists have included Sean Carscadden, Ellen Toscano, Aaron Redner and Sarah Summers.
