Vintage Festival set Sept. 26-28

The 2014 Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival kicks off with the Friday Night Gala at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at the historic Sonoma Barracks.

“The 2014 Vintage Festival is three weeks away with the Friday Night Gala being held on Sept. 26, featuring live music by Foreverland from 7:30 to 10 p.m.” said Maria Toimil, president of the Vintage Festival board.

Saturday, Sept. 27, festivities include the blessing of the grapes, the firefighters’ tug-of-war (which has replaced the water fights this year), the grape stomp, and the “Get Your Glow On” parade at 8 p.m.

Sunday includes the Grape Stompede – a 5K and 12K run, and more grape stomping competition.

There will be an art show all weekend, plenty of food and wine and plenty of music including:

• Saturday, Sept. 27, on Sonoma Plaza Main Stage: 11 a.m., Gator Nation; 1 p.m., Luv Planet; 3 p.m., Danny Click; and 5 p.m., Lydia Pense & Cold Blood.

• Sunday Sept. 28, on Sonoma Plaza Main Stage; 10 a.m., The Zins; noon, Frank Bey & Anthony Paule Band; and 2 p.m., Charlie Musselwhite.
