The Veterans of Foreign Wars Bear Flag Post 1943 is now accepting vehicle registrations for the third annual All American Bad Ass Car Show to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Sonoma Valley Veterans War Memorial grounds, 126 First St. W.

The VFW has partnered with Arron Johnson, owner of Bad Ass Cars, to host Sonoma Valley’s best car show of the year. More than 150 hot rods and muscle cars are expected at the show which is free to the viewing public. Registration is $30 and open to rod-and-custom American-made vehicles, 1973 or older. (Custom motorcycles must be American made but have no year restriction.) Music from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s will be played all day, with food, beer, soft drinks and other vendors on site.

A special quilt made specifically for the car show will be raffled with the proceeds being donated to support a local wounded warrior.

Trophies include Entrant’s and People’s Choice, People’s Choice Best Motorcycle, People’s Choice Best Engine, Furthest Traveled, and Best Car Club Representation. A Woman’s Spark Plug Changing Contest will be held with trophies and prizes included.

A Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast, the Sonoma County Calendar Girls, military vehicles, and a silent auction will help round out the day’s activities.

All proceeds go to support Bear Flag Post 1943 programs and veterans in need. For registration forms and more information, visit the post website at vfwpost1943.org or call 938-3543.
